The Autonomous Province of Trento in Italy
The Autonomous Province of Trento has chosen NeaNMS as network management software for their NOC (Network Operation Center), managing WiNET wireless network which is considered the largest one in Europe.
The agreement was signed between the Autonomous Province of Trento and the enterprises group made of Alcatel-Lucent S.p.A., Essentia S.p.A. e Sensi S.r.l. and it will result into the creation of the largest wireless broadband network in Europe. The project, sponsored by the Province of Trento and adjudicated through an European bid, is about the creation of a wireless network for public usage, made of over 2,000 access points, using Wi-Fi and HiperLAN technology, which will integrate with the already existing optical fiber backbone.
NeaNMS was included into this ambitious project, due to its scalability and high availability key features, being the platform for management of the Network Operation Center, running on 10 enteriprise-class servers for a fully redundant and clustered solution, managing all the network elements and the planned 150,000 subscribers access.

The Province of Bergamo in Italy
BiG TLC, a 100% public company, has been in charge of the broadband project implementation covering 600,000 inhabitants, 200,000 families, 45,000 businesses and more than 100 public institutions. The project was made of 400 Km of 10G optical fiber organized in 6 different rings with last mile managed either with optical fiber, xDSL, Wi-Fi or HiperLAN technologies. British Telecom and Foundry Networks are the main project contractors together with Alcatel-Lucent for the wireless network supply.
NeaNMS was chosen by Alcatel-Lucent for the management of the Network Operation Center of BiG TLC on a double server installation for a fully redundant solution. In this occasion, thanks to the project complexity, NeaNMS was able to evolve into an even more performant platform, reaching its second version, now being able to fully adapt to any telecommunication network, thanks to its compliance to the ISO FCAPS model.

Correggio Wireless Project
The Correggio Wireless project in Italy was entirely sponsored by SPAL, a telecommunication company founded over 50 years ago, in order to bring free Wi-Fi and HiperLAN connectivity to the whole Correggio municipality.
It was planned to give Internet access through dedicated CPE and to nomadic users through the issuing of prepaid scratch cards, that allow access to the network for a pre-defined time.
NeaNMS is installed in redundant configuration at SPAL NOC for the management of the whole wireless network, the inventory of all devices, their operational and performance monitoring and for all subscribers management.
NeaNMS manages the prepaid scratch cards codes generation, together with their profiling (duration, expiry, etc.), grouping and billing.
